What directories are showing up in your Google sitemap?

Just a quick question: What directories are showing up in your Google sitemap?

I mean, we all use Google's analytics right? What directories actually show up in your sitemap? It would be interesting to note or make a list as I've submitted to hundreds of directories over the past few years and only ever had a handful showing up in my Google sitemap. Who's first with their list? :)

Google seems to be working on some big changes the past few weeks. The data they provide seems to be jumping all over the place so I am not sure I would trust it too much til it settles down a little.

Submitting to directories will not bring your significant traffic.

Well, this is not exactly true. Trusted backlinks are an essential part of marketing a new website because they help both human and automated visitors assess the popularity and importance of the target site—owing to backlinks on other sites.

This is the single largest reason there are so many search engines and directories online.

So a lot of traffic might not be generated directly from a directory page, but it helps to bring in traffic by reinforcing the authority of a particular link.

That's why it's essential to submit to well maintained and well ordered directories, in my opinion.

Great insight! An educator's explanation to the less knowledgeable ones.

Your statement perfectly fits for the definition of "What is directory submission or Benefits of Directory Submission" :)
