What datacenters do you use to check your directory PR?

There's been a lot of talk of Google updating PR etc, what are the best PR checking resources out there at the moment. I know iwebtool, I don't like that one, it's never right, I'm thinking along the lines of ones that check accurately as many DC's as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Personally I don't use any as PR is something I'm really not interested in. There were times when myself like all the other directory owners, I thought PR is a fair way to measure one website's strength...now not only I don't believe it but I don't care at all. There are much more important things to do and to work on...

Now to simply answer your question...you may want to type a query into your browser, I'm sure you will find several options. If I remember well, smartpagerank, digpagerank and livepr were some good options to check your PR in several datacenters.

    Thanks

It's ironic that when everyone had high PR's you all said how important it was, but now because most got dumped from hero to zero you all say how unimportant it is? I'm betting that when people start to recover and get decent PR back minds will change back to how important it is again. Us humans are a fickle old lot.

I have but don't want to trawl through dozens that appear to be using iwebtool and is often down. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to give me an answer here. :)

    Hehehe...how wrong you are...

Just to let you know that I never had any directory with PR higher than 5 and I never lost any bit of PR in any of my directories. They all stay the same since last year or improve nice and steady. More than that I never had any site penalized by uncle G so I'm not so unfortunate like many other guys here.

The reason I start paying zero attention to PR and Google's dirty games is that I've seen really big directories falling and their only fault was over promoting.

I remember Alive had over 1 million backlinks and they were still getting banners or links in every brand new directory out there. Do you think they did it for only a few extra links or to manipulate Google's system? Naah... That was what I call proper promoting and branding. People used to browse new directories and see their banners, click on them and perhaps make a submission. When you as a submiter see the same banner, the same brand on 1000 different places you start thinking, hell, that's quality and you'll remember the site name or logo for a very long time.

This was their only fault, over promoting, and if you believe that's a good reason to penalize Alive, Aviva, eWebPages, Dump, Forplex or Zorg-Links, now you tell me...

It seems that once you start aiming higher Google does something to keep you down here and don't allow you to play big. At the end it's a bloody jungle and they are happy to crush the small webmasters if this will bring them some bloody extra $$$...

That's why I don't give a s**t about PR and Google. They act like dictators and this kind of businesses will fall sooner or later.

And beside PR there are much more important things to do

    like getting up here

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=video+web+directory&btnG=Search

    ...and here

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=video+directory&btnG=Search

    ...and here

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=premium+web+directory&btnG=Search

    ...and here

    http://www.google.com/search?q=video+web&hl=en&suggon=0&start=20&sa=N

    ...and here

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=traffic+directories&btnG=Search

    ...and here

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&suggon=0&q=directories+traffic&btnG=Search

    ...and several other places.

Also much more important than PR is gradually increasing your quality backlinks, building unique categories descriptions and meta, adding lots of useful websites, good quality content and try to help the others by coming out with useful tools and ideas.

It is a long and slow process but eventually I'll get up there some day.

That's why I don't care about PR and I don't check the datacenters several times a day shaking every time some numbers change. That's why I can sleep well at night not being worried that I might be penalized....Could write several pages on this matter but I'll stop here. I hope you get it - if not keep checking the datacenters and keep starting threads like this instead of doing a simple search in your browser, which would definately solve your problems.

    Thank you

I've never liked Google but I can tell you that most people who lost out on this update will say PR is crap but when they had high PR they said it was the be all and end all. Nice to see you on top serps for your keywords, well done.

The tendency for people who got good PR to glorify PR is almost natural. And of course if they lose it, they will get defensive and say trashy on PR.

It can boil down to a matter of opinion, really. If PR can influence on your profit greatly, I think then it's very important.

Google only allows websites like digpagerank to query their DCs a few times a day. I use the SEO quake toolbar for Firefox. If not I use dirsensei.com as it has a nice tool.
