What kind of CTR's have you gotten for AdWords under what conditions? I'm thinking we can all learn something if we compare notes.
Is disclosing CTR allowed? Well I am afraid if disclosing it violates the Google's Terms and conditions.
I average 3%-5%; it could be higher; but I make sure that only paying visitors click through my AD. So every click I get, has the highest chance of becoming a paying member. Instead of having a huge CTR, while the majority just looking for free stuff.
RichUser, What kind of ranking position do you get? I imagine that top the 3 gets a substantially better ctr than the rest.
Position 1-2 usually. The reason for my low CTR is because I list prices or requirements in the ADS themselves, so I only get qualified visitors clicking.
I m getting an average CTR of 1.5% for all campaigns. Bat my concern is about a few campaigns that run Below 1% mark. These Campaigns consistently run under 1% even when all the campaigns ahve the same settings(Keywords, Ads .......)
I have to say... It depends which campaign, and which niche. On average, if I see something with less than 3% CTR I think I'm doing poorly - remember AdWords is about TARGETING. I don't know how many different campaigns you've run in Google but I've had some interesting experiences: - One campaign I have has a CTR of 4.5% average position 2. But, if increase the bids to position 1 the CTR goes to 9%. - I ran a recent campaign on the content network only with a CTR of 1% !?!?! for about a month. Bizarre. - I ran a campaign for a niche that in order to get on the first page (and I'm not talking position 1-3... I'm talking first 10) I had to bid about $20 and the average CPC is $10. This campaign runs on a CTR of 15% Random, random stuff. Regardless: I still love adwords.
it really doesnt matter what other people got since every niche is different, 1 niche the standard could be .5% CTR another niche it could be 5%
I agree completely with narsticle... Every area has completely different CTRs, I have accounts with CTRs ranging from 0.5% for more brand building (broad) campaigns through to 20%+ for very targetted groups, and much much more for own brand phrases. Generally the higher position you appear in then the higher you can expect your CTR to be (certainly top 3 anyway).
I manage a number of accounts for different clients, and there are a number of factors that influence your clickthrough rate. In no particular order... 1) Position (obviously) 2) Brand Recognition - do people know who you are 3) The quality of your advert 4) The quality of everyone else's adverts 5) The natural search results 6) The keyword that you are advertising on On a brand name, in a high position, 20% - 50% is commonplace, with a good advert. That aside, from first position, I look for 6% or more, though I've had up to 20%. For each position further down, I multiply my target CTR by about 75% (so it's 4.5% for second, 3.3% from third etc). But if the competition is very strong or weak, or the keyword is only marginally relevant, the results can be very different...
Hi there, You are unnecessarily getting into the mad world of CTR. It really does not help in anyways unless you are comparing your CTR to advertisers of specific to your industry(only then will you get an idea of how well you are doing). In some industries (read high competitive) at CTR of .5 is considered good but in some u may have like 5-7% and it can still be bad. CTR is important quality wise but don't loose focus getting your average CPC to as low as possible. Thats where the benefit is. I hope this helps
I don't quite understand your question. But, I do profit nicely by targeting only paying buyers to click my AD.
I am about to start Ads with pricing information and little bit product information on in it. I was wondering how has it worked for you.
