Hello Does any one have real info (by testing on different accounts and different credit cards) about what information out of the following is REALLY checked by pay pal , while adding it into the account for either withdrawal purposes or for funding purposes (in this case it requires verification too) 1) Card Number - Surely Checked for validity 2) Card CVV - Surely Checked for validity 3) Expiry Date - Surely Checked for validity 4) Name on Card -Checked or not? 5) Street address - Checked or not? 6) City & State - Checked or not? 7) Country - Someone told me it isn't checked! KINDLY share your experience. Those who don't have REAL information need not reply!
Hey deluxdon n Raghu, what do you think regarding Address detail (except country), Do they really cross check that with credit card company? ( i heard they do check address other than country name) Have you ever tried to add a credit card with different address. or wrongly entered address and was it ever declined that way?
Just they will check Card Number, CVV number and Expiry Date. You can give any name, any address and any country. It's not a problem. Also, the card will works perfectly in PayPal. But suppose, if in any case they limited your account, they will check the remaining details as well. At that case it brings you lot of trouble.
After limitation, when you say" they check those details" you actually mean by asking us for card statements and proof of address and stuff and not by themselves..right?
Definitely they will ask Credit Card Statement (Because in INDIA, we are sending payment through CC only, so i think you must provide CC statement as proof). So surely, your account will gets limited, if the info was wrong.
Ok Thanks. So the fact is, that they cant, by themselves, check for address. The onus of proving that lies on us, by card statement or proof of address or i card or whatever hey ask for as documental proof! Thats fine and EASY BTW do you know anyone or any info on it, where a person can add two different address of his for adding 2 cards within his one account? (same country ofcourse). Also is it possible logically?
Yes, it is possible. You can add different billing address for different cards. It is not a problem. As long the info provided by you are correct, it wont be a problem.
Name on Card - yes Street address - may be City & State - may be Country - yes Zip code - yes IP Address - yes IP country - yes Most credit card processors usually reference ip country to the billing address country for possible fraud. if you are in travel signing up, but thats another story.
Well, i think country is not checked. I have now confirmed this from multiple sources. My main issue was with street address and city etc, which i am still unsure of, but bias is that they dont. Zip code also comes in same category. Regarding IP and Country, Don't think PP cares about that, till we are adding a card after logging from ip which is not usual with our previous major account activities. (in which case, it will limit the whole account and as for Id probably) If you have some kind of proof , regarding country, zip etc, specifically related to paypal or experienced something while adding different credit cards yourself, kindly share. Thanks
