Does anyone on here use Software in order to create, monitor or manage their campaigns? If so what software do you use Does anyone have feed back regarding software they have used in the past good or bad. final point a couple of companies inc BT seem to be using an automated service, how is this achieved? Many thanks in advance Paul
there are numerous adwords management tools ranging in price from free to many thousands per month. They all have pros and cons. try a google search on PPC management software or similar terms. We use adwords editor (free from google) together with some custom built php applications that hook into the adwords api
i have used adwords editor and i am pretty pleased with it. Its free and is quite flexible, I also use clicktracks optimizer to analyze traffic and keyword performance. It is a great combination using the two in conjunction with one another. If you can afford clicktracks i would definitely make hte investment as long as you can justify the cost. I can beccause i spend about 4k/month managing CPC campaigns accross the 3 big search engines.
I would not recommend using the API until you are VERY proficient with AdWords and your language of choice. When we first started using it we blew through a LOT of money. Use AdWords editor or consider porting over to Dart or Atlas if you run a large agency.
