Since article marketing is generally free (from a fellow writer's standpoint) there is still room to invest cash in getting more traffic to your site where you promote Clickbank products. Now there are some things which you can invest in to help rank higher in Google and other SE's of course but what are the best investments? What is the most effective purchase you could make to get more possible sales and targetted traffic to your site? Is it worth starting a PPC campaign or are there better routes to go? I've read that many people do use Adwords for their sites but this could be a shady area in terms of guaranteeing a return on your investment. The niches which I'll be dealing with are also fairly competitive so the CPC would be rather high. Essentially I plan to use bum marketing techniques and being a SEO slave to build up my site's value in SE's but for the most part everything will be free. Just curious if there is any room to invest $50-100 and ultimately gain that extra edge and dominate a certain niche/keyword and get a higher conversion rate. Thanks
I'm still not sure what the best investment is in terms of promoting a product, but I can share with you some results I've had with PPC. I've used PPC in the three following ways: 1) PPC direct to Affiliate - Spent $800 last year, made $100. Bad investment 2) PPC to Email Opt-in - Spend $35 per week, make $100 per week minimum. Good investment. 3) PPC to Landing Page - Spent a few bucks, but not really good data. I would stick to article marketing as the best way to generate sales. You can do a lot more testing without spending a penny...except for a hosting and domain name, but you don't even need to that if you use a squidoo lens as your landing page.
I would go the PPC route. Results are almost instant. You can use PPC to find more keywords to drive "targeted traffic" to your sites. You can use PPC to build lists, which is a must. People who don't use ppc or are against it, normally just don't know how to create successful campaigns, or how to do keyword research properly. I would use a couple of those bucks to learn the basics before trying out ppc. It isn't hard, but you just can't go out there without knowing how to do it. I use ppc primarily to test the market, drive traffic to my site until I get enough back links for the natural search engines, and to find those golden keywords that I never would have thought of You will find that you really need to do both, articles and ppc, to make a good living.
