I have had some really good feedback on my site www.shareyourexpertise.com

I have had some really good random article pop up.

I was wondering what I might offer to entice people to join and contribute.

Maybe offer an incentive program such that if you share your experience and have other people 'rate' it, gain points for a store possibly and buy things through that store through the points built up through the experiences you've shared and been 'rated' on.

    just an idea...

That could be tough. I just programmed my first php sql the other day. but i like the idea.

right now i have an adsense sharing for all the articles written and i am developing the profiles so people can link and promote their own sites.

i am also going to have a business directory.

people who visit like the idea . i really thought more people would be interested.

You could always hand out money. Those pay per post forums are all the rage these days, you might put up a contest or two for posting in a forum.

What about advertising place in the homepage? You can have a monthly draw (the more posts you have, the more "tickets" you recieve for the draw). The prize can be a month of advertising on your homepage

I am building this because I am having fun with it. I am hoping to get some members who do the same and we can all have fun together and build this organically.

I think it's the site design... and the fact that I'm overwelmed with text;) I think you need something that's short, straight forward and will catch people's eyes and hook them into joining your forum;)

Oh sorry, I must have been surfing/reviewing too many sites I lost track:rolleyes: Sorry!

Here's a suggestion: highlight the "Why Sign Up?" link (use a differet color?) may help

I didn't sign up (after reading that page) because I don't really write articles. I like the idea though.

I am glad you said that. I am trying to have this conversation because I don't know how to put this in words on my site.....but you just might have gotten it out of me.

See I don't write articles either. Ideally, I don't want people who write articles, writing articles for the site. I would LOVE for my retired dad to write about his hobby or his life growing up in a small rural town or like my ex girlfriend wrote about meditation because she doesnt have the time to set up a blog or get a domain name or anything.......these people dont have time to link build , worry about PR, keywords etc etc etc....

Yeah.. maybe you should highlight the fact that you can earn $$ through ad revenue sharing and recieve exposure for your site.. money sells...
