of course you don't post there, only here where it's convenient. How brave, a true hero.

I am the only one, so why is everyone else here annoyed with you and putting you on ignore? Except maybe 5 people which are the same ones again and again. Great job, 3 yrs of hard work really paying off for you

Ziandra, seriously, go on a date with jimnoble. You guys are perfect for each other. If ur a girl. Plus, you're from "central California"...what like Modesto? Bakersfield? Fresno? Oh wait, its all the same!! haha...jk...no but really, I'd be a DMOZ editor too if I lived out there. Well, if they didn't reject me. Jkkkk gosh. :p

Replacing DMOZ staff, editors, etc. would do nothing - the power trip cycle will just continue, its the way the system is set up. It either needs to be dropped completely by Google, or privatized with a COMPLETELY NEW interface so that it can act professionally and be held accountable. This whole volunteer crap just ain't working out. Its like a corrupt church that uses "non-profit" status as a mafia front.

Just a question, is there any examples of Editors being kicked because they spoke their mind in a public forum about DMOZ? It will be very dissapointing if thats the case...

I do believe that something is wrong with the set up. Somewhere there is a missing link within the accountability chain. I do feel for those editors who take their position seriously and go thru tons of submissions which are not in the right category, doorway pages, and additional pages to sites already listed. I personally am not sure I would make a good DMOZ editor. It's annoying enough when you have 10-15 people a week contacting you on messenger about seo advice. I don't mind helping out but it becomes very clear that some people will open their hands and want and want and want without ever trying to do something for you.

That I assume it must feel like at times for DMOZ editors, like everyone wants a piece of them.

However there is a difference between people making mistakes and people intentionally trying to trick you. The resource zone threads and the DMOZ threads here can be equally ugly and everyone supports those he/she is friends with while the major issues are not being fixed.

I have been in the DMOZ issue threads for about 4 years and after taking a break I got back into the 3 months ago when resource zone banned me for asking a few questions and demanding some respect.
What I was told later was stuff I should have been informed of long ago, that the fact that I have submitted the same site 25 times over 3 years got me red flagged. I had no idea what caused their rudeness but please, if someone does something wrong, tell them straight up so they know where they have gone wrong.

Ziandra, I appreciate your input and see you point but here is mine:

Had the DMOZ leadership any interest of fixing these issues, why haven't they done so in the past 5 years when it already started becoming a problem. From what I see, it is getting worse, the amount of spam submission and the zynicism of the editors who soon will believe all webmasters are spammers. Somebody up there must be thinking everything is just fine, and they are getting something out of it which most of you guys are not getting. Once again I am not bashing, just voicing my own opinion.
You guys have a lot of power due to the importance Google places on your listings and with that comes responsibility. If the responsibility is being ignored, problems will pile up. I am approaching this from a business perspective since I am very experienced in running businesses, now my very own and before that I was one of the managers for a Fortune 500 company. I also don't have the same ideal like many who believe in the non profit phenomenon, someone always seems to make a profit and after all, bills need to be paid. Sorry about the rant, but there has been so much garbage sidetracking us within this thread, I might as well rant about something I feel and it's up to you guys to tell me where I am wrong and where I am right!

    Cheers,

    Mike

Yes I do, but none of which I am willing to share in a public forum due to the nature of my friendship with those who have already been discomforted on my behalf.
