    What Copyright Is:

Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U.S. Code) to the authors of "original works of authorship" including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. Section 106 of the Copyright Act generally gives the owner of copyright the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
    * TO REPRODUCE the copyrighted work in copies or phonorecords
    * To prepare DERIVATIVE WORKS based upon the copyrighted work
    * TO DISTRIBUTE COPIES OR PHONORECORDS of the copyrighted work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending
    * TO PERFORM THE COPYRIGHTED WORK PUBLICLY, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works and
    * TO DISPLAY THE COPYRIGHTED WORK PUBLICLY, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work.

Uploading someone else's photographs and/or artwork is strictly prohibited and a violation of the TSCC Site Policies. You must be the copyright holder (photographer) of the image you submit. Uploading any of the following is strictly prohibited and may result in a lifetime ban or legal action:

    a) A photograph of a photograph.
    b) A photograph that you didn't take (even if you have verbal permission to use it).
    c) An image you found (on the web, from a book or magazine or other printed object).
    d) Desktop/wallpaper patterns that are found.
    e) Stock photographs/artwork from other stock agencies.
    f) Tracing (illustrations) or creating derivative work (you may not use filters on models and submit)

Copyright is very important to TSCC and should be adhered to as closely as possible. As a artist uploading your images to TSCC you will find that our administrator do not accept (and will immediately remove) files that contain:

    1. Logos, trademarks, company names, product names, and product brands or trademarked and patented designs: This is like a coke bottle, a register pack of cigarettes, any trademarked items

    2. Patented & Trademarked
    Product Designs:
most modern toys, many brand name watches, brand name computers and other licensed products. No taking a picture of your computer with the Sony label prominently displayed.

    3. Artwork:
Paintings, sculptures, any object in a museum, any object in an art gallery, outside exhibit including public artworks/sculpture, some architecture, advertisements, other photography (a photograph of a image/photograph)

    4. Documents:
Modern maps, documents where names are mentioned, some government documents, computer screens (interface and icons are copyrighted).

    5. Illustrations:
Traced images based on copyrighted images, fashion editorials, magazine models etc that you do not own the original copyright for. (You cannot scan an image and use Photoshop filters to enhance it.) We do not have a fan art category and cannot accept replicas of popular modern heroes as art.

    6. Government & Military Property:
Presidential seals, military decorations, golden eagles, Agency insignia, flat scan of US currency. Photos of currency are okay but not anything that can be reproduced as money like a scan could. Reproductions of United States or foreign currency are permissible only for certain purposes (including educational), and only if the following conditions are met:
The reproduction must be one sided

    7. Trademarked Buildings, Monuments & Landmarks:
The copyright right laws of this category can sometimes be vague. It is best to research the structure before uploading it. An Example: the Eiffel Tower is legal to resell photographs during the day, but illegal (copyrighted) to resell photographs showing the lights at night. Mostly because of the light display copyright not the building.

    8. Canceled United States and foreign postage stamps: may be of any size whether the illustrations are in color or in black-and-white. Canceled U.S. and foreign postage stamps must bear an official cancellation mark, i.e. the stamps must have been used for postage. U.S. and Foreign Currency

Ok so if I have some of these (pics) up then the best course of action would be to take them down and slowly ask each for press permission?
