Hi, I was just wondering that if you are working from home and you buy a domain name and sign up to quite a few affiliate programs, what contact details do you use. Do you use your home details or do you actually use a service where your mail and things get redirected to your real address. I would like to know this as if you use your home personal contact details then you domain name may get seen by thousands including your home address and also alot of affiliate programs will have your personal home address on file. So what do you guy's do?
Don't you think doing that is a little risky if your site becomes rather big and people then get jelious or you do something wrong and don't realise it and then someone comes after you and your family. If your site becomes popular then your home address is in the whois database and can be seen by millions. What about if something like this happens or do you think I am just worrying over nothing?
If playing little business, use your home address, its ok. But if you plan becoming the next stormpay, better register some offshore address. In answer to your original question, it all depends where are you buying from or where are you registering at. Websites have reputation, i will tell whatever to google.com for example, while i wont tell anything to Jayde
big sites should have their own company. even if we ignore this security issue this is a good practice from tax saving point of view. for small sites even though your address is visible i don't think its that big risk because there are thousands of such small sites anyway.
