What Constitutes Building Links too Quickly?

I guess how many links per day is too many. Obviously I want to spread it out so as to not get sandboxed or anything like that, so I just wanted to know how many is too many per day.

From my experience there's really no set amount that is "too many." If you blast out 10,000 links in a day and ping all of them, then you might run into trouble, especially since you're at the point of spam there. They key is really to build your links consistently. Google knows you don't magically get 1,000 links every Monday evening. Pick a number and build consistently. Once you reach a SERP position you're happy with, you can reduce the number to the point that you're holding your position, but not necessarily gaining ranks (at this point you need to really focus on some other aspect of your website, this isn't a time to slack off).

10,000 links a day and ping them will definitely run you into trouble. Sites can get sandboxed rather easily, however you only need to do quality link building to get out. Try submitting articles to directories on a large scale and use rotation software to input different url's in your resource box. You can effectively build lots of links for a vast amount of websites.

    Philoon and Swiftly,

    That is an intresting statement.

I am ranked number 9 in Google for my keyword so in order for me to become number 1, I should just do a 10,000 blast to my competitors and ping them links? then i will be number 1?.

Wow guys, you really fooled Google's large webspam team.

Well done, now where is the proof? or did you just pull this information out of your rear ends?

Only new websites that have no PR or were recently registered will get sandboxed by blasting thousands of backlinks. I never said banned either, just sandboxed. And like I said, quality link building gets you out anyhow. If you were to blast your competitors, you would only help them as it's doubtful they have done NO link building, otherwise you wouldn't know they exist. Whatever link building they've done previously would probably be plenty to keep them from getting sandboxed because of some competitor spamming links.

Swiftley, Where do you get this information from?

If I have a new website, high authority, but no PR, a competitor could knock me off the top spot?
Show some proof of this and show proof that the sandbox exists instead of talking out of your rear end again.

No one in the entire Internet community can show you any documented proof of the sand box. The reason why people believe it exist is because of a building amount of circumstantial evidence and reports of the same evidence from others.

No one knows everything about Google. Even with the information that Google has given us they still do things that don't match what they say. That shows that they have secrets.

    Hi, I'm new - my name's Tom.

I have a question - as I'm new I'm going to guess that I'm not aloud to post my URL here (so I won't) but if you were to type "Brisbane Wedding Photographer" in Google, I come up on the first page. This is great and in no way am I complaining, but to get to #1 with that key-phrase took about 3 months. The totals of people actually typing that prase though aren't great based on my stats results.

I'm wondering - I wish to rank on page #1 within my city of Brisbane when someone types "Photographer" - realizing the incredible level of competition for such a popular keyword what would my best bet be? My site has been running now for about 18 months (approx) so would intense link building have any negative repercussions (as far as Google is concerned) and if not what would the best link building system be to gain ranking quickly for a highly competitive keyword like that?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

    cray820.

THE SANDBOX DOES NOT EXIST. Like i said there is no proof. Do a test and see for youself, and if you do discover that it does exist, then please enlighten the world to your new findings.

People can believe whatever they want. It’s not really my problem, but when people make a statement, they should at least be being backed up by a reliable source, because all it does is confuse the new people learning SEO.

For me, I will consistantly build around 20 backlink to a website a day. This will accumulate over time and will not raise any google red flags.

What is the fastest service for building high ranking backlinks that aren't erased after a couple of days?
