I want to run an affiliate program for a product. I am using myreferrer.com but their technology is ancient.

What company should I use to run an affiliate program?

This is a tough question, most companies use DirectTrack but I have heard less than favorable reviews in the past. In my opinion either use Commission Junction directly, but you have setup fees and 30% of the payout goes to them as well, or have an inhouse affiliate program built on your site for between 1-2k.

What affiliate program one should use depends on the product being sold so... what are you planning on selling?

Most companies do not use DirectTrack I don't think. I think you are getting mixed up with affiliate programs and cpa networks. Many CPA networks use DirectTrack, but when it comes to affiliate programs more use other different softwares.

There are some popular affiliate softwares that are used by a good few online affiliate programs listed here.

PostAffiliatePro is popular, but not sure if it's got what you want as I'm not sure what you need for your affiliate program.

Good luck on what ever you choose.
