I would think blue links would be the best cause thats what Microsoft has ingrained in everyones mind with IE.

blending them with your sites colors is google's official recommendation, but seeing the rotating bright colors on the top of the forum here tells me that shawn has seen other results :)

This is a forum and the ads need to stand out to grab your attention... thats the simple reason fo the varied bright colors Shawn is displaying for the ads... Do you see the same bright colors for the ad-link unit ? ;)

Blending the ad's background with the website's will work well. Whatever the color, after all components are put together...it must look pleasing.

i think using blue is not a good idea. it gives the same advertised ads look everywhere, which might put off people from clicking on them. The best thing is to use your site colors and blend them well.

Hi, I was reading an article yesterday on Google ads and the most effective ads according to this unscientific study are the text big square ones (this one is colored with some neon green, black and red colors. ) I do not use this SIZED ad yet as it seems too much bulk for my own eye appeal, but I guess it works for getting the ads' message accross!

The article is here and it does discuss ad size and consistency issues. Hope it helps :)

OOPS. Ps. Yeah, I do remember now, I use this size, I started it for the valentines promo lol .. I forgot about that. It does fit nicely in the middle column of my site over my google search box. Anyhow, that's all for now :)

I just match everything to the colours of my site. Bright, changing colours are there to tackle ad blindness you develop after a while. I assume it works best on DP because it gets returning visitors.

I have heard it from many people that blending the colors to a certain extent with your site would be a great thing . . . . but don t just blend everything within your site that it would just be a 2 color dull site, something has to stick out to catch the eye
