I have a new directory in which I am thinking of adding either a blog or cms program to which would be best to use. I have used both wordpress and modxcms in the past . What I am thinking on doing is adding resources articles template designs etc

I never had any problems with modxcms as I have used it since before they forked from etomite that is until Vista and IE7 came out now it doesn't display my one site right and so far I can't find any templates that are compatible and display right

    I'll go for wordpress too.
    Reason :
    - a lot of plugins :)
    - easy to be integrated to your directory

for a web directory, a custom article script is the best! you already have a great article feature in phpld 3.2!!
but then on bidding directories, where there is no article etc features, i guess wordpress will be the best choise!:)

I'd go with wordpress, as most others have gone with, however don't forget you don't have to go with a stand alone solution, you can always opt for phpLD3.2.0 which has an article publishing feature (although obviously limited compared to wordpress).

question with wordpress can you make them SEO friendly such as
yoursite.net/postitle instead of the default and if so where would you change it as I know now its yoursite.net/index.php?.....
