Cloud computing means storing your files on the web and have the freedom to work from anywhere, anytime.

There's so much hype about this... and yes, it is obviously the future.
It just bugs me that most of the people hyping it up are corporate types who don't know crap.

    </rant>

You're crap is done/stored somewhere else rather than on your own computer.

    Benefits:
    • speed, try searching through thousands of e-mails on outlook compared to gmail :).
    • storage, near limitless
    • accessibility, anywhere you're connected
    • redundancy, plenty of backups - all of the time

I'm a paranoid bugger though, and simply don't trust having all my data under somebody else's supervision. :)

Those of us on *nix/BSD have been doing this since the 80s or 90s and other systems before that. This is hardly new. It's just that Windows is 20-30 years behind. It's not just storing your data but also running applications through remote systems.

My first computer ran FreeBSD and I still use it to this day along with many other *nix based boxes. Also, I said "You're crap is done/stored", as in you're work is processed/stored.

It's the future as in it's truly worldwide and accessible to all.
Just take a look at Amazon's EC2, when in the past has absolutely everybody had access to teraflops of high performance computing for as little as a few dollars?

I just plain and simple wording cloud computing is a technology that consists of client server architecture , where the client are get connected to the server through the user interface via web and all the functionalities and physical hardware are place somewhere else to do that work and show you what happened in the result.

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a metered service over a network (typically the Internet).Computing clouds provide computation, software, data access, and storage resources without requiring cloud users to know the location and other details of the computing infrastructure. Within limits, cloud users can consume any amount of these resources without having first to acquire servers or other computing equipment. A parallel to this concept can be drawn with the electricity grid, wherein end-users consume power without needing to understand the component devices or infrastructure required to provide the service.

Cloud accretion is a accepted appellation for annihilation that involves carrying hosted casework over the Internet.

There is a big difference between cloud computing and cloud hosting.

Cloud computing is used in large scale corporate applications and SaaS applications - e.g mobile device applications.

Cloud hosting is where multiple servers handle a web hosting environment allowing the environment to never go down.

Cloud Computing to explain in Simple words is like for example . You use electricity in house the more power you use the more electricity bill you get in that month. In this case the Power plant provides you electricity , you can use as much as you need or you can reduce it by shutting down all the electrical components in house , In this case the power plant is electricity cloud .
Second example the water tap we use . Use as much as water you need . In this case the water tank is a cloud of water .
In the same way In cloud computing you have a Bunch of resources Like Huge amount of RAM , Storage space, CPU setup at a datacenter location . Now use as Much RAM as your application needs , Use as much Processor as application needs , Use as much storage as you need and pay as per your usage , the same way you pay for electricity as per usage .

    1. Same way that electricity is available from the electricity grid. we simply plug into it and do not need to worry about where The power is coming from or how it got there.

    2. More computing power required, No need to buy a new one . Connect to internet and access the services by paying money for it.

    3. It means primarily sharing CPU time but also other things such as storage, services and infrastructure.

It is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data.
