Hello heartdragon, Depending on the Registrar you elect to use, prices can vary. For example currently at Dynadot there are several registration promotions that you do not need a coupon. Register a .gdn domain for $0.88 - https://www.dynadot.com/domain/gdn.html Register a .xyz domain for $1.99 - https://www.dynadot.com/domain/xyz.html Register a .info domain for $4.99 - https://www.dynadot.com/domain/info.html What I would suggest is first decide on the Registrar that you opt to work with. Things like their dashboard, customer support as well as pricing are all factors that should to be considered (imo).

Check out Uniregistry and name.com they have good prices on .com domain names. If you search for coupons for name.com you can get a .com for cheap.
Check out NameCheap. But, if you can go for GoDaddy, why not? It works better than others (as per experience).
Examine out Namecheap.com. Excellent organization, and they run a lot of special offers and discount coupons. You can get many websites for $0.99 for first season. After trying to subscribe a easy sector with GoDaddy and operating their gauntlet of upsells, I would not contact them with your ten feet rod.
