Unfortunately, there really isn't much we can do. Where there is capitalism, there will always be poverty, some will undoubtedly be left behind. Sad but true, that is my view! fusionxls78
there are so many poors all over the world, how can you help every single one of them? i just don't think its possible. As much as I hate to see people on the streets and stuff, they will always exist
wealthy people like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates can help but waiting or asking help to those kind of people can not make and difference. The key is in our hand if only some of the people in the world will do their job nicely i think poverty will not be a problem.
Some aspects of solutions are already in the works. The world is getting better in many ways. Google launching satellites to bring internet to remote places like parts of Africa is one small example. Changes in China are incredible. Technology, internet becoming available to everyone is going to be a wonderful equalizer. These are examples of 'teaching a man to fish' so to speak. While donating relief for symptoms is nice, good, and worthwhile...people need to be empowered to solve their own problems for long term improvements to work. Micro-loans are a great example. ie: loaning the money for a dairy cow or goat for a family with nothing, then they make a business out of the dairy. A high percentage of these loans are repaid. I think the answer is helping people to help themselves. Once people have the chance for a better life, that is all you can do. Here in the USA, many people choose poverty which proves that it cannot be eliminated. You can't help the unwilling.
It's really simple, you share or gift money but many people are so conditioned to not even think about this. Sharing money or gifting money is an ancient rite. They knew it brought wealth and was a way to be prosperous.
A holistic approach is needed to analyze the root cause of the poverty and more poor centric policy decisions have to be taken. Accumulation of wealth among few people will only do more harm than good and it should be equitably distributed. Corruption too contributes to the poverty...
You cannot make poverty history, if you gave poor people more money inflation would spiral and in the end even moer people would drop below the poverty line. Poverty is in the end what gives people the goal to better tehmselves, work harder and earn more.
Go back to the past where currency was not in use and people use to barter goods for services... self reliance would be the keyword, but alas you would also have to say goodbye to net, electricity, fuel, cars and all the earthly luxuries we have become so dependent upon.
Poverty can't be eliminated for good. The only thing we can do is to make a change in our behavior. Be less selfish and more empathic...connecting to the ones in need...little by little, day after day.
Poverty is measured by $$. Capitalism makes people work for their own money, some choose to be lazy and be poor. Only help those who are helpless and want to help themselves not those who are poor because they choose to be lazy. However, with technology, we can probably build fully automated hydroponic farms with robotics and stuff and provide food for everyone. I think we have enough food for everyone in the world, but the food is not going to certain areas because it fetch a much higher price in other areas. The producer of the food wants/needs to make money as well.
pay our taxes all properly ! That way atleast we are not hampering the cycle ( The cycle , when working correct ensures there is no poverty) Actually, rich goto pay the taxes. Taxes are used my government to create employment for the poor and pay their salary. So when there is no proper tax payment, there is property !!
As an individual, one can always help by getting involved in community work and contributing towards charitable organization. That's what I'm currently doing right now
we can HELP i don't disagree, but we can never make poverty history though can we? assuming making it history means 0 poverty?
