My Credit Card details have been leaked out through a trojan.. And I am worried that the hacker will use them..

But what are the worst possibilities that can happen?

All they have is my 16 Digit number..

call your bank and inform them to block your card immediately.

BTW, How do you know your card have been leaked? Also, they need the cvv number to use them. if it is an Citibank card they also need pin number to use the card in internet.

Ask your bank to cancel that card and for them to issue you a new one.

You should immediately contact your credit card company and they will issue you a new card and number. The thieves could charge numerous items to your credit card and you would have to fight it out with your credit card company.

    this happened to my brother
$10k in charges in 1 day
and they were all to internet advertising firms!
all due to buying spyware from some scam software that he purchased via clickbank !
hes not a regular internet user he just upgraded from dial up like 2 days ago
and i think he thought i did it cuz he knows im in to web ish!
but anyway he called his credit card company and told em and got all his money back!No questions!

i also emailed click bank acting as his lawyer and got a full refund with no questions!
but i still hate and dont support sny clickbank digital products

That is not necessarily true. I have a Citi credit card and I've used it to make purchases that required neither the cvv nor pin.

I had this happen with my check card. The Bank noticed the charges before I did and contacted me.
They cleared everything up in about 2 weeks.

    I hope somebody got caught.

After I signed up with Paypal, five years ago, I just stopped using my credit card online. If the site doesn´t offer that option I give up on the sale.

If you dont have any confidence in using the card, just call your banks or credit card helpline and tell them its lost. You will receive a new card within one week with different card number.

yes you need data other than the number itself in order to buy, but if those people put a trojan there in the first place that must mean they have an idea on how to get that too ;)

yes if it the got the card number it was most likely from a purchase that was made online that required all the other info that the hacker needs to make purchases
and im sure they got all that info also!

p.s. How do you know they got your credit card info?
