What can I use to build my site

Well I have abit of a Dilemma I want to build a website but here's the problem.

    - I originally wanted to use Drupal CMS but I do not have any experience with it and it would take a long time learning as a beginner.
    - Wordpress is not an option as I want a full functioning site and not a blog.
    - I have little coding knowledge and I have low funds.

    What can I do?

It's worth to start learning Drupal. It would not take too much time. Find some drupal tutorials at youtube.
As for me it's easier to watch videos and repeat than read big manuals!

Better analyse the existing drupal modules, and just create a custom module in that. Then you get the clear idea to develop the website...

Lots of online tutorials and videos are available for learning drupal.

The most popular web design packages with Affilorama members are WordPress, Dreamweaver and XsitePro.

If you're really not familiar on building websites. I suggest to hire some html developers/web design artist to start with.

Other options would be to get free themes in google and edit them as you wanted.

I can help you out with building websites from scratch if you want.

    Cheers,

One more suggestion for Wordpress. It is easy to set up, change a theme and everything else. Drupal is very complicated.

Wordpres because you can use it for more than just blogging...there are so many themes to choose from that it's a good option. Especially for someone with limited funds and not much web design knowledge. Otherwise it's good to hire someone or maybe exchange some services with a web designer.

I would also recommend you to use wordpress as you will have to learn the drupal coding. You would be using google search engine or forums if there is any technical issue related to the coding of website as most of the webhosting companies do no support website coding issues. Wordpress is very user friendly and easy to be integrated. Wordpress is not only used for blogging but you can choose the look of your website from various themes. There are many webhosting companies using wordpress for their website so go for it! You wont regret! Just keep in mind to keep the plugins and wordpress version updated time to time to avoid hacking.

    Gone are those days !

You probably have the kubrick header thing in your mind when u think about wordpress.

Now you can have a good complete looking website including "the blog" with just the WP platform.

I can only agree to all posts above - recommending WordPress

Used to create all my websites in Adobe Dreamweaver... until I met a need to set up a membership site about a year ago. Then I suddenly realised that WordPress was so much more than just a platform for blogs, and since then I build ALL sites in WordPress - no matter if it is blogs or sites only structured with pages.

WordPress is quick and easy to learn and the access to tutorials and FAQ is endless... It is a most price worthy choice today! :)

Learn CSS and HTML. Javascript can come later. Start off here (http://www.w3schools.com/). Also if you have absolutely no idea how to html code something but you see it on another site, first get google chrome the inspect element. But don't copy, just see how it's done.

What I did is have an initial designer do a html page and a CSS sheet (basically telling the HTML how to look) and then I learned from his code and added my own. That is the best way to learn the code by seeing what it effect truly is. You have to meddle with it for a while but you will get the hang of it eventually.

Once you link up your CSS style sheet to your html page (main code page) you will be on track. Send me a PM if you have more questions.

I recommend Easy WebContent's site builder tool, I think it's easier to use than Wordpress.
