If your account has been limited for 180 days or more then you are able to withdraw to your bank account mentioned or add a new bank account in the profile section under add/ edit Bank account.

Paypal does not scam anyone. I have been with paypal for years and still I did not get any sort of limitations because I have all the legit information in the system and I work accordingly as well.

There are people who say paypal does that as a business concept.
limiting accounts and locking up the money for half a year to cash during that time.

I've heard a lot of horror stories.
I am using paypal myself and I try to comply with everything they want to avoid those problems.

You would need to wait 180 days before you could withdraw the balance from your account. At which time, you should be able to set the withdrawal method for your country.

Did you by any chance violated any of the policies or your contractual agreement ? Did you sign up and access your account from an approved paypal account and provide only real and accurate information ?

If your website linked to your location is correct, that would mean that you are from Algeria and Algeria is a Send Only country and as such you should not even have a balance. That would mean that you signed up using a fake address or one which is not your own and got found out and thus your account got limited for lying in your application. If that is the case, you are at fault here and not paypal. Don't blame paypal for your mistake.

I have had very similar problems with paypal. Nothing happened when I emailed them. I submitted all the documents they ask for, but nothing happened. But when I phoned them something did happen. Be polite but INSIST. Good luck.

I faced the same problems with paypal. My only fault was that I logged in using another ISP (my main internet service provider was down and I needed to withdraw cash). The next day I receive an email that `there are hacking activities on your account'. Immediately I noticed all my receivables in Paypal were blocked. In due course of time they were refunded back to the provider whose `content writing' work were completed and accepted. All these hapenned within 2 weeks of opening a Paypal account.

Then they requested me to `verify' my account and made other requests like my bank statement, proof of residence etc. Within a few days of that request, I sent them all such information yet my account was `limited'. There is nothing pending in their requirement page. I have mailed them a number of times pointing out that there is nothing pending in their checklist, but to no avail.

Now that 180 days have passed, I received an email from them that I can now only `withdraw' money from my account. All that I have got over there is $1.95 (credit card verification refund), and this cannot be withdrawn since the minimum withdrawal amount is $10. Can someone please assist me.

    1) Account verified
    2) bank statement and health papers sent to prove residential address.

paypal is the most horrible way to send money online I used to run my own ebay shop and when someone puts a claim on a payment they lock your account which causes me to lose a lot of money from listings not being able to send or recieve money. the best we can hope for is google checkout to start dominating since paypal is getting sued left and right. I hear moneybookers is pretty good but the only people I see that take moneybookers are people who sell illegal content!

I have not yet had any issues with them, and i have had my account with Paypal for over 3 Years.

I am a seller and a buyer and i make sure that if i am going to send or revieve a fairly large sum of money $50+.

Then i make sure that i have proof. My account is verfied and recently, i verified my address aswell...

Assuming I have done `content writing' for someone, the process would be receiving an order in the form of a topic via email. I'll compose and send back the same as an attached word .doc file. What proof can I have in this case? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I've had issue with paypal before. I did everything in the right but it seemed that the buyer had more protection than me. I burden of proof relied soley on me which I thought was lame. He got away with the product and his money back...

I don't like Paypal but it seems to be the go to payment so it's hard not to use it.

Thanks so much for your concern. I shall get in touch with them via phone. My buyer had no dispute and he had, in fact, paid me for 5 successive orders. I was working on the 6th when this sad episode occurred. I guess it was my fault trying to log in from another ISP, since my primary service provider was down at that time.
