What can i do to kick the site off?

I just signed up here. just started a new website looking to get it kicked off.
And need some tips im willing to pay for some advertising. but any ideas would be great. thanks alot

Start adding good content first. Get help from friends.
Do SEO. Build links.

These would be your first steps.

 

Also add your site on directories... Exchange links...

 

First of all avoid paying for advertising or be careful to pay anyone. Good content is the key of traffic.

 

I agree on doing SEO and building links. Write keyword rich articles to drive traffic to your blog. Google had an adwords tool to get you started with relevant keywords. It's free.

You can also create hubpages or lenses on squidoo for backlinks. It's a lot of work at first but when you get the hang of it, it'll be easy.

 

I'm curious...did you have your head up your ass when you typed that out???

And, uh, good content does not bring people in. It BRNGS them back (repeat visitors).

 

Create a good press releases. Send it to local media, and submit to online press release websites.

Then it's time for SEO!

 

SEO and hard work there is no easy way be prepare to spend money ...

Start building links to the site. See if you can get some link partners in your nieche...
That would be the easiest and cheapest way to get started.

 

Thanks guys for the advice. i have now deleted the old forums. and started with vBulletin. that seems better. and just opened. will try my best. tell what you think im also gonna offer free graphic requests to bring members in.
