Hi guys, this is what i m doing. 1 - make post on my blog. 2 - submit that post to many social bookmarking sites (Digg, stumbleupon, indianpad, humsurfer) 3 - using Google groups for marketing coz of that i have been to first page of google many times now. but they disappear very fast from first page. so guys what should i do to keep it on first page for longer period. EDIT: and also am i getting right technique for promoting my blog by promoting post by post. thanx in advance...
Try getting links to the post you want listed. Most new posts or sites get listed high for a few days this is called new page bounce. Keeping page listed high is the hard part.
1. make sure you have your blog as well as the blog RSS feed submitted to all blog/rss directories 2. make sure you PING all blog directories and RSS directories after each new article posted 3. write new articles if you have nothing but your blog, then at least a few per day - that will increase the number of RSS feed "subscribers" and thus the backlinks from happy visitors 4. keep in mind that we have daily growing competition, hence to be on top YOU too need to GROW daily, else someone new will suddenly be better or more relevant or more active than you and you get divorced from your top position. 5. a top SERPS in nothing you are entitled to, a top position is a privilege to have for a while for extraordinary merits, or for being the first one or for being excellent in SEO or other factors. share with others unless you are better than all world!

Just keep on posting fresh and interesting content. Those ping sites like pingoat and pingomatic can also help IMO.
Try to get links from related and quality sites using your targeted keywords as anchor text. Better if you can get permanent links from related sites.
