There are many ways you can increase traffic to your website. The best starting point is to decide how much you are willing to spend for it in terms of money and time. Also decide whether you want just any traffic(for ranking purposes) or buyer traffic (for $$$).

One of the simplest and free method of driving traffic to your website is creating informative, unique and keyword focused content pages on your site (articles that offer value to your website visitor). The more of these you have, the more search engines(like Google) will love your site. As a result, they will rank you higher, which simply means more traffic. however, this method may take you some time to implement especially if you are writing the content yourself. You can outsource the articles for faster results.

Another way of driving traffic to your site is using ezine ads. Basically, these are advertisements that you place on online magazines(ezines) and then they are sent out to the ezine subscribers. This method requires you to identify ezines specifically talking about your niche. It is a fast way of driving targeted traffic but it requires some capital.

You may also drive traffic through simple directory submissions. What you need to do is identify authority directories with high pagerank on Google and submit your website for listing. If accepted, you gain some authority to in the eyes of the search engines, hence higher rankings.

Other methods include Pay per click(like paying for Google Adwords or facebook ads), Pay Per View(Quite cheap and targeted if done correctly), Link exchange, articles submission(to authority sites like ezine articles) and Social Media Marketing.
