What can I do to improve my writing blog?

Hello DP buddies

Okay, I've started a writing blog: http://abigailbeal.blogspot.com. I welcome any thoughts and suggestions on how I can improve it.

Now I am a complete technological idiot. So anything I can do to "bling" my blog that someone with minimal techy skils can manage -- I'd be very open to. I tried positing to hire someone to do a Blogger template for me, but got no takers here at DP.

I've stayed away from being too advice-y and my posts vary on different topics as I write on a number of topics. I'm trying to post every day.

What can "bling" this blog? Any ideas????? lol Thank you for your thoughts!

Dunno, the stories are crisp and short, really catchy and engrossing. The only thing I felt wanting was the "caffeine"...think of ways to spice up your blog. Good luck blogging

 

Hi there, Abby. I hope these suggestions can help you:

1. You can try to learn customizing your site by reading and learning about CSS and basic HTML. It can go a long way in helping you customize your site. There are tons of tutorials out there that can help get you started. Here are two sites that helped me a lot when I was just starting to tweak my sites: http://www.webmonkey.com/ and http://www.w3schools.com/css/ They have simple tests that would help you apply what you have just learned.

2. If you're planning to make money out of your blog (as most people here often do), it would help if you stick to a single topic, one that is just enough to let you talk about a number of things. Not too general and not too specific. For example, if it's about cars, you can give tips about car maintenance and troubleshooting.

3. Network. You're site won't be any good if there are no people visiting it. What you can do then is visit other people's blogs, leave comments there and make friends with them. A good number of them will reciprocate.

It's a longish one, but I hope they can help you get started.

The design needs work, you are using one of the default templates,
you should get a more original template. Like cd928 said if you are
trying to make money from the blog it's better to stick to one topic.

 

i like the site and the images and stories are interesting

 

The theme looks good and descent. I feel if your posts are good then it will attract more visitors.

 

Hi you have nice blog keep writing interesting topics. I think layout need little improvement or you can change a theme.
