Hey guys, I'm posting this because I know here I can find a lot of knowledgeable people in here and the answer I need may be way faster. I did post my question to vB forums too, so please if you feel really friendly...give a hand. I appreaciate this! I've noticed that my index page shows "0" threads & posts if you're not logged in. Once you did you can see them all. I thought the problem is in statistics "Update threads count" & "Update post counts" or even "Rebuild Post Cache" but unfortunately the problem still exist. I also checked the Usergroup(Unregistered / Not Logged In) Permissions but they're all set to "Can View Forum"...I'm just wondering what can cause this annoying issue? Thank you very much for your time! p.s. if you wanna share the solution pls add to your msn friend's list:
Well I know this may sound stupid but it might be the browser your using.? I joined a forum once and everybody kept telling where I could change my user cp but for the life of me I could not find it. I was using firefox and when I switched to explorer the problem went away. So now I always check my forum with both and there are differences in the way the pages load. Just a thought Mark
Sounds like you have your usergroup 1 (not logged in guest) permissions messed up. Edit that usergroup and make sure they can see forum post. Look for these settings in usergroup 1: Can View Forum - yes Can View Thread Content - yes Can View Others' Threads - yes <----- This is the one you want to check. If the "Can View Others' Threads" permission is set to No, then you will get exactly what you are describing. Guest will not be able to see other peoples threads.
Hey guys, I found what caused the problem: (vbulletin options > Forum Listings Display Options > Show Private Forums>"Show Post Counts"). This also was impossible without the valuable help of Colleen from WTF. Thank you, so much Colleen, and Thank You guys(SiteDirectoryIndex.Com, ~kev~'s), as well. Now, everything is fine and in order. Admin/Mod you may close the post as we all found the solution of the problem, please! Thank you DP and WTF forums.
