Ok. I am going to go first. Then i will outline how you can post. The book that has changed my life the most is: 1 - “The 4 Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferris. After reading this it gave the confidence to change my career path from Mechanical Engineering to becoming an Online marketer / Web Developer. 5 years have gone since then and I now run my own business and still practice most of the principals outlined by Tim. Other books that are awesome: 2 - “The Willpower Instinct” by Kelly McGonigal I always used to think that I was weak. That I did not have much will power. This book made me realise that I can grow my own will power and that will power needs to be managed. It also made me realise that at times, when your will power is low, you just need to recharge it. This has given me more confidence and pride in myself, whilst also letting me push my life further. *** RULES *** 1. Post a maximum of 5 books. No more. 2. One book that instantly flashed in my mind after reading your post was: Title: WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life Author: Spencer Johnson Why: I usually prefer to stick to things the way they are and have always been quite afraid of accepting any kind of change, whether it's concerning my personal environment or professional life. However, when I read this book, it gave me some very important perspectives on why we should be ready for a change and accept it as an inevitable part of life. "If You Do Not Change, You Can Become Extinct" – this line from the book hit me the hardest. Perhaps, it's the fear of becoming extinct that made me change my outlook towards change. Life is like a constantly evolving process and every moment, there's something new to learn. More than anything, this book has taught me that if we're ready to adapt ourselves to the demands and pressures of the situation that confronts us and don't remain clung to old ways of thinking, we can certainly discover new sources of happiness and joy. Now I'm not as much afraid as I was previously to venture into new realms.
"Time's Arrow" by Martin Amis. I totally recommend this book! It is something I have never read before. I don't want to spoil the book but will it be enough if I say that it is written backwords? The books begins with death of the main protagonist and as he gets YOUNGER, he finally goes back to his mother's womb. Even dialogues are written backwords (it is quite challenging). I'd say that the book is insane but it's probably not appropriate word for a book on the holocaust. However, if you want to read a book that will bring you into the uncanny world of the main protagonist, you should read "Time's Arrow"
1. The Bible - Various people throughout centuries inspired by God. It teaches to live in the fear of God. Where there's the fear of God there's wisdom. 2. "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You" by John Maxwell On top of having the right charisma, there are certain things a leader has to do in order to succeed, and John Maxwell really nails it.
Yes I agree to qwikad.com answer. As well as these books are changing our nature and changing our life.Best books of Bibal,Quran and Sri Bhagvad Geeta as well best books in the world.I can respect all religious. 1) Sri Bhagvad Geeta - You will be presented transcendental knowledge of the most profound spiritual nature as revealed in the Bhagavad- Gita. In a very clear and wonderful way the Supreme Lord Krishna describes the science of self-realization and the exact process by which a human being can establish their eternal relationship with God.In terms of pure, spiritual knowledge the Bhagavad- Gita is incomparable. Its intrinsic beauty is that its knowledge applies to all human beings and does not postulate any sectarian ideology or secular view.So that you can use the this book and you can change your life. 2) Quraan - Islam is a beautiful religion. Islam is perfect.so if you are looking for Islam, look for it in Quran. The divine guidance revealed to the last prophet of Allah beloved Muhammad. So I will do the respect all religion book and all religion.
Title: Buddha's Little Finger Author: Victor Pelevin Why: It literally changed my way of thinking to something deeper and more global. I can't say it's the most powerful book which I have read, not even the most powerful one of this author. But it was the first book of this kind for me, and something clicked.
I have read "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey and "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson which change my life or I found a new route to live life with positive mind set.
“Martin Eden” by Jack London Suddenly I figured out that every sailor can become higher than he was and than the high society he wanted to belong by reading and thinking about the world's structure and the nature of beauty...and then ending his life by suicide when all he fought for become a dissapointing piece of crap. It's a strange world where talented writers need to bury themselves cause their sharp talent helps them to fully understand the hopelessness of existence.
books of Wayne Dyer, like "your erroneous zones"... really important for your personal growth and finding your real personality
