Hey DP!, I've never worked with AdWords before, and I have $200 to invest in a new website. I decided to try AdWords. Do you have any suggestions on what - preferably free - ebooks or articles to read? Thanks in advance, Edwin.
Hi, Start by not spending money on Ebooks because all information about Adwords can be sourced for free using a search engine and a bit of time. Money is best spent advertising, where by trial and error you can learn what books can't teach. That's not to say you shouldn't do your research. Use the Adwords Help Centre and come here for clarification. Members are always happy to help. Consider hiring someone to take care of setting up your campaign if you want it done right the first time. While you can set it up yourself, having someone experienced do it will save you money in the long run and I think most people on these forums will help for much less than you expect. Read up on blogs like the Adwords blog, Red Fly Marketing's SEO blog. Using adwords also relies significantly on your marketing ability. I like Seth Godin's work on this subject. See his blog and in particular read "Big Red Fez" available at BetterWorld books 2nd hand or new. Good luck!
* Do you have a site/page to convert? * Are you using Adwords just to promote a new site? * Why are you spending $250 promoting a site instead of working on it, on SEO, and get free traffic, and then, invest on ads? Just some random questions!
for some having to use $200+ on SEO is a bit questionable if they are really new to the online world and Adwords is a big help to start up with than be fooled by an SEO and have your site be penalized. So I suggest testing and testing till to get it right
I feel reading here and adwords own info and videos is the best place to start. One thing ive learned is not to keep looking elsewhere for information that is already right here.
