I am looking to expand my sites content but getting articles on a Blog set up as a Sub Domain to my site. I am looking at the following and was hoping to get some comments on them to ease my decision.

    Nucleus
    Wordpress
    Drupal
    Geeklog
    Joomla
    Mambo
    phpWCMS
    phpWebSite
    Siteframe
    TYPO3
    Xoops

It need to be customisable to blend in with my site www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk while being reliable, easy to use, and generate a RSS feed.

    Thanks all.

I'd suggest writing your own blog platform... It's not hard, and that way it's completely custom :)

But doesn't wordpress request data from the database every time a page loads? That seems like so much unneeded processing power...

I would also recommend Word Press, but tarponkeith is correct, you would be better off developing your own platform if possible.

Wordpress is by far the most popular, most powerful, and most supported blogging platform. It is easy to customize and there are numerous plugins available to expand functionality.

Yes it does, but WP-Cache plugin helps the problem.

Unless you really want to code one of your own, WordPress is the way to go.

That's true, i'm geeklog user, and i converted my database to wordpress, my site has a lot of visitors daily, and with wordpress the site went down ...because of WP heavy database requests.

I tried to use WP-Cache plugin but nothing solves. I tried to take off all plugins of WP, nothing happens, the site went offline...I tried some apache optimizations and php aswell, but believe in me, nothing worked.

Plus, i was running WP in a dedicated server.

So, i don't recommend wordpress if you have a site with you have many visitors.
