What benifits you get from pagerank? I have many sites that have PR, but i cant see any difference. Thanks
are those sites competing for the same keywords or different ones? For the same keywords site with an higher page rank will appear on the top of the searches
PR does not have any benefit for Ranking high in the search engines. You can have a PR2 and outrank a PR6. The only benefit you have is to sell links. Or use it to link to your other sites.
PR plays a part in giving priority to your content in search results and most of the time if you are adsense user, earning potential will be more
I have heard just the opposite, that page rank does play a factor of where you rank in the results pages. But PR plays a very small factor. Google uses something like 175 - 200 factors in ranking your site in the results pages. Page rank is just one of those points. So if you spend too much time focused on PR, other important points will be over looked or left out.
PR does play a role in the serps but it isn't nearly as much as it used to be. A good page rank will help you but it shouldn't be the end all and be all of your SEO strategy.
absoluteli PR is not everything , its only a factor, placing your site in search result depends on uniqueness of content, relevancy to the search term, PR, no of quality backlinks etc, etc.. But PR also plays a part in adsense earnings.
PR just relevant with backlinks, and if you have add keyword in the meta, maybe you can see the position of your keywords.
PR is just like any other recording instrument which just displays your end result. PR ranking illustrates how well your site is inter connected with other similar sites. If you intend to derive monetary benefits out of it, one can at best sell links! Regards, RightMan
the only benifit of PR is that when you sell links, but aside from that i cannot see other benifits. it is also true that a PR2 can outrank a PR6 page..
I read somewhere (will search for it) that the PR system is slowly falling away and that related local links is given priority. I have noticed that a similar site of mine with a higher pr rank than the other one is getting lots less traffic than the one with the lower pr. This is one of those seo topics that can go on forever because no one actually knows the correct answer. Only the big boys at the top decides (GOOGLE) what is going on.
mmmm. I don't think this is entirely true. As I have said before. I have two similar sites and the one with the lowest PR gets the most visitors. Most of my clients don't even know what PR means when I go see them for the first time. You will only be seen by seo gurus, developers, designers (people that knows about pr) as a trusted site if your PR is high. It doesn't affect your rankings that much. I have many sites with low PR that is doing optimially on the SERP's. Well this is just my 2 cents of information and I'm sure someone will have a different input regarding this.
Personally, I don't worry too much about it, like the others have said, some of my smaller websites with PR0 do really well in the SERP's and get some decent traffic. I think a lot like to compare sizes, mine is bigger and better than yours! Apart from that unless you are positioning yourself to sell links, worry about SERPs and good SEO not how long or what number your page rank should be.
pr doesnt give any advantage in terms of traffic and keyword ranking but it will help u when u are looking for link exchange and long period of time google gives more weightage to high pr
Apart from the monetising benefits that everyone has mentioned, PR does help in giving some authority to your site as well as help in SERPs.
