What bank information is safe to provide to sender in a wire transfer case?

Hi, I am from India and want some funds transfer via Wire from allover the world from my international clients.

I just want to know, what information I can provide them safely?
In India, we just provide account number and bank name only and everything is fine.
    What info to provide them?

One more thing, one of my client is asking for Swift Code, but in India there is no swift code, so what to do?

If I provide him the account number, IFSC code and Payee name is that information is safe and sufficient for a funds transfer? How much time does it take to complete a wire transfer?

    Thanks

Every branch of every bank in India, there is a swift code - if it is atleast a "B" category forex branch. You need your branch's swift code in order for the wire transfer to complete. I have done a lot of swift transfer - both for sending and receiving - with SBI.

You may also need to use the intermediary bank details for the SWIFT transfer to take place.

There is no risk in telling him the details. For a SWIFT operation, you will need following details:
    1. Beneficiary's (Your) name
    2. Your Bank's name, branch address SWIFT code
    3. Intermediate Bank's name, branch address and SWIFT code
    4. Your account number

So, to know the codes, you need to talk to the branch (or directly to the manager, as some employees are really dumb a** and they are clueless upon asking such things). Alternatively, you can let me know your branch's address and I can tell you it's swift code (If it's in India). No matter what state or city it is located in.

The normal transfer may take 3-10 days, depending upon the bank holidays. Not more than that.

Also, when it comes to form filling-up, make sure to use the form A2 as it's for non-physical goods payments. However, the goons in the bank may force you to use the Form A1, but tell them firmly that it's only software services so you will fill the form A2 (Else, there will be tax problems).

Let me know if it helps you.

Hi, you can tell account number, IFSC code and Payee name to the person who is sending funds via online banking. It is safe. My friend Ausdrez's has already provided with lots of information to you. Take Care.

As said in my above post, you can either contact the Branch Manager or let me know your branch address. I may be able to tell you it's swift code.

Only few bank branches in India are having Swift code. If you are in a small city then I think there will not be a thing like wire transfer.

NO, they sometimes force you to fill the Form A1 which you have to explain to them that why you are after A2. Else, it may create problems for you in future. (The experience)
