Personally I think its quite unfair. Just because a site has 20 million pageviews or more doesnt mean you should get to do things others cant? Whats the reasoning? For the larger sites it means more clicks which makes google more $$. But even with a smaller site it would mean more clicks too and more $$ for google? Does anyone know the logic? What are your thoughts?
It's called Adsense Premium Account and why is it not fair? Big fish are more interesting to google then thousand small ones. Besides the different Ad formats google assignes them a personal representative that helps them get the most out of adsense. And of course this makes sence. With 20 mio PIs a CTR increase of 1% means thousands of dollars for Google and the Publisher. Why waist better ad formats on small projects when it can bring the big money on large projects? Keep working on your website so that one day you will get the invitation from google to become a premium publisher
Isn't it unfair that rich people can get the best cars, best looking women, the best rooms in hotels, just because they have a lot of money? After all we're all the same, no? No. Rich people, or webmasters with lot of traffic, get to choose.
I think it's pretty fair. Google sees great opportunity to increase their ads profit by working with giant websites, vice versa. So why not? if we want to be a premier publisher than we need to show Google that investing on our website is very profitable.
Also if you run a website that creates >20 mio PIs/month selling advertising directly can be much more lucrative then using adsense alone. And the longer you run in house ads the more the adsense ads lose AIs. See here on DP for example, adsense ads are getting less often shown these days. That is why Google hooks the big fish with extras to keep them using adsense
I think it's not strange. Those Premium accounts can bring in a large amount of money. Its just business.
i had never heard about adsense premier accounts.... but its good.... big people need more attention & which google is giving them....
Thats not business... Have you taken any business classes? Or owned a business? So you have 1 Premier publisher that makes google $1million a month. And you have 1 million publishers that make $2.00 a month each. Who is actually making google more money? And that $1 mill from the Premier is getting special ads to get that much money. What if the little guys get it? Might raise them up to $3. per month which X a million publishers is you guessed it $3Mill. Which is $2mill more than the one guy. So why not give it to us all??? That sounds more of a win win for everyone....
Because the little guys have no choice, it's adsense or nothing else. The premier publisher has choice, many ad networks are ready to offer him special CPM deals to match offers from competitor ad networks. 1 premier publisher costs that much to take care of (customer support) whereas 1 million little guys with each their own little problems and support requests, cost much more in employees for customer support. But Google take everybody, but for the little guys they have only some ad format and rules. That's ok, don't complain, you already have a lot of choice in ad format and the range of topic allowed is wide.
Adsense is not the only choice my friend. It all depends on what site I have. I have some sites that CJ works wonder, some that bidvertiser pays me more and others that adbrite is better. It all depends on the content of the site. But as for the premier pub its still a crock. Give everyone the same ad choices. Sure give the giants better customer service. If you own a store are you only going to help the rich people and kick out all the "poor" ones. Who knows what that poor customer will become with some extra choices..
