Write a relevant and compelling advert. Run it in a few different places. Work out which is the most profitable. Test new advert text regularly. Test different landing pages. Bid less on underperforming keywords (or ditch them completely) Bid more on overperforming keywords (100 conversions at £4 may be more profitable than 70 at £3). Test some more. Then do some testing...
What I learned so far is that there's no free lunch. As usual, hard work is required in studying, researching and testing. The problem is that there is so much info out there, one must focus or get lost in cyberspace.
Just don't lose sight of your objective - to make as much money as you can. Improve your quality score by writing a compelling advert, adjust your bids to be in the sweet spot and make sure your site is well-designed, and you'll be most of the way there.
