well in my opinion you pay for what you get, they use base standard parts and the cruddy dell software that comes installed already on your comp slows it down

Dell laptops are great. I have fixed many computers for friends & family. I have never seen a Dell with a manufacturing defect.

    Here is a useful link:

Havent used their laptops, but my wife had one of their desktops and the after sales service was impressive. They seem to stand behind their product.

My experience with laptops has been with just about everything but Dell. I'd avoid Compaq, Toshiba and HP for varying reasons (although if you want one that can also serve as a cooktop when turned over, the HP may be a handy thing). Been using an ASUS laptop since January and I love it... zero issues.

You can buy the Dell Laptops, but keep my words in mind that don't buy laptop bag from Dell coz the quality is pathetic. In my opinion Go fro Dell Inspiron 14 which is 14 inches model with i3, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, 512 MB Graphics Card. PM me which you find any difficulty.

Dell user here. Latitude D610 (business laptop)
I like dell because I feel its durability and its support. I've been using it for about 3 years now without any issue at all. :)

what particular model are you planning to buy? Inspiron 1464 is good as all around laptop.

Dell is ok I guess, but can I recommend Sony Vaio, They come with blu ray drive, 6-8GB Ram and other good stuff. Might cost a little bit more, but well worth it for I.M IMO... They are fast, 500 GB,s of space very reliable.
