At our office we have some SEO tools that we use all the time when helping our clients, but none are paid for, and require a monthly subscription. Do you recommend paying for SEO tools, or do you have an arsenal of free tools you prefer to use? If so, what are they? Care to share with the rest of us? Here a couple we would like to share with you.

To check for other sites hosted on the same IP address we prefer: http://www.myipneighbors.com

To check for backlinks we like to use: http://www.bluebacklinks.com & http://www.backlinkcheck.com

A fast tool to do a Whois Lookup: http://who.is

Traffic travis is good window application software for SEO. I am using free version right now. The pro version will release in a week. I will buy it. As my experience it is very good tool and very accurate. It is complete package. Rank checker, competition analysis, keyword tool, on-page SEO checking etc. You can go to the website of traffic travis for more information.
