What are your favorite on-page optimizing tools?

    I'm looking for tools to help me optimize specific web pages or articles to rank as highly as possible for a specific keyword phrase. I'm not talking about off-page optimization stuff like building backlinks, but on-page stuff like use of H1, bold, keyword density, etc.

    I've bumped into a few that are web-based, and found some that you download and install. Some are free and some cost money. I'm trying to figure out which ones are best to help me get my optimization "just right"--not overly optimized, but not leaving too much on the table either. I don't mind investing in a tool if it's genuinely worth the money.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    My favorite tools are rank checker and SEO for firefox; Im using both for checking my SERP.
