Hi Im interested in becoming a Web hosting reseller. What is the consensus here at digital point forums? Is it very lucrative? Im looking at Hostgators reseller plan vs. Godaddy. Personally I think that Hostgator is a tad better as far as control panels go in comparison to Godaddy. But company wise what are the plus's and minuses between the two. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had a web hosting reseller experience last year, and it turned out pretty well. I earned a good income from that, the host was local (in my native language), since the host was the only local Web host in my country, lot of people signed up within its first week of launch, and I got 50% of all sales. But the guys have shut down the company now for some reasons idk.

Hostgator and Godaddy are top notch web hosts, Im sure you won't have any problems with them though I haven't done any reselling bussiness with them. Good luck with it. :)

Well I know Hostgator offers you 100 % of all sales but you have to pay their monthly fee. Their lowest plan is 24 bucks a month. Im just looking for some alternative income aside from the norm.

Heres a question... As a hosting reseller can you sell domains as well?

    AND

Hows does technical support work. Would I as a reseller be handling support issues. Im sure there are some things I can handle or answer questions to, Im guessing that anything beyond my knowledge I would direct to Hostgator or Godaddy? Server issues etc etc

    Hello,

    1. For selling domains you will need to become a reseller of someone like enom for example.
    2. You do the technical support, if there is something you dont know you just ask your hosting company and they will tell you, but you cannot direct your clients to your hosting company.

Don't go with godaddy. Hostgator, A2Hosting, and look around here on DP too :)
