I have found directory submission to be a method of building links with mixed results. Having recently submitted to 200 link directories, I ended up with around 50 to 60 back links. Which I feel is a fairly good result. Does everybody else experienced similar results to this?
Even If you get a lot of back links, I don't think Google indexes all the links. It depends on the pagerank the directory has. For some days ago I started a directory. It is much to be done but you can already send your links there. http://dir.videovici.com
its not the amount if backlinks that matters, its the value of backlinks which is most important. while directory submissions can get yuo some backlinks easily, you should not just rely on that. use various other methods of link building which will produce much better result
yeah directory submission can do some good for you. Once i submitted a site in hand picked 750 directories and no other link building. I end up with PR 2 and On first page on my main keyword. The advantage i have was keyword presence in url and a 1.5 year old domain. But other than that no link building ever done on that domain.
Yeah submission to some good directories helps you to get pr and good serps but still there are many methods to get it.
50/60 links from 200 directories is on the lower side. Were you submitting only to high PR directories?
