What are your business goals?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and thought I should make a thread about it to see where other people stand.

Any knowledgeable businessperson knows that in order for your business to succeed, you need a plan. You need to have a short term plan, and a long term plan.

Without a vision for your business, without a roadmap, you have a very limited chance of ever having success.

It's like going on a trip to a place you've never been before, would you just set-out without knowing how you're going to get there? Would you go without ever taking along and consulting a map?

Of course not, all you'd accomplish is getting very lost and you'd never make it to your destination.

Business is the exact same way.

Warren Buffet, Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller and every other successful businessperson in history. They all became successful not only because they worked hard, but because they had a business plan; a roadmap for their companies to achieve success.

I think this is one of the biggest reasons for failure for so many people online, if you never know how you'll get there, then how will you?

I grew up in a family of businesspersons, and my whole life I was taught that you should always set goals for yourself, have a plan on how to achieve those goals, and it should always be written down and looked at everyday.

Not just for business, but for everything in life.

Unfortunately this is something that I didn't take seriously for years, I thought that as long as I had an idea of what I wanted, and somewhat of an idea on how I would get there, then I would succeed.

I should have listened to better business sense.

With my online business I never had that much success, and always wondered why things never went the way I thought they would.

So one day I decided to follow the advice I'd been taught, and I sat down with a pen and paper, and I laid out a plan exactly on what I wanted, and how I would get there.

I also write on a sticky note and affix it to my computer my next goal that I must reach.

I do this so that I see it everyday.

When you put things down on paper, and look at it everyday, things start to happen, it's like "magic" so to speak.

When you do this your subconsious mind takes over and almost forces you to achieve your goals. You still have to put in the effort and work hard, but the simple mental trick of seeing your goals written on paper everyday gives you that extra "jolt" in the right direction, the direction towards your success.

Since doing this for myself, my business has started to expand, for the first time I started receiving checks in the mail, and my campaigns and websites no longer lose tons of money.

    So my question is this:

Do you follow this line of thinking? Why or why not?

What are some of your goals that you've laid out for yourself?

My main, overriding goal is to be a millionaire by my 25th birthday, I just had my 22nd and have a ways to go before I reach that goal, but I know I can do it.

You have to believe 100% that you can succeed, and you must be very specific about what you want and when you want it.

That one goal is very specific, $1,000,000 cash in my bank account by noon on Feb. 26th 2011. And on paper I have the roadmap on how I am going to do that, also being very specific.

    Where do you stand?

    Again;

Do you follow this line of thinking? Why or why not?

What are some of your goals that you've laid out for yourself?
