SE, you guys should check these guys out when they come to the UK this summer http://www.flipsyde.com/main/ Just saw them last night, their album comes out mid-July. They do it all, turn tables, electric guitar, flamenco guitar, and an MC. Maybe you can get Mella to go with you
I usually listen to downtempo/trip hop stuff while I work, although I had a great time last night blasting all my old David Bowie stuff. My favorite groovy mellow stuff... The Herbaliser Lamb Goldfrapp Handsome Boy Modeling School Gorillaz Bjork Nighmares on Wax Daft Punk Orbital and Felix De Housecat is also cool, but more intense. My favorite alt/rock stuff... Beck Franz Ferdinand The Shins PJ Harvey John Spencer Blues Explosion The Hives The Black Keys Knife in the Water The soundtrack from Fuli Culi (also known as Furi Kuri or FLCL) is amazing too, but hard to find as it's an anime show. The band who does the music is The Pillows...totally fun Japanese rock. http://www.pillows.gr.jp/
There is a single on their website, but most of their music is a mix of hip-hop and rock. They are one of the most unique bands I have heard in a while. I saw them last night and they mix in some Flamenco guitar with rapping, beats, and heavy guitar. I don't really know how to describe them.
Hi SEbasic! Handsome Boy Modeling School is a definite look-see recommendation for anyone into the Gorillaz. It's a Prince Paul and Dan Nakamura project. Breakdown on The White People cd is one of my fav songs right now. http://www.handsomeboymodelingschool.com/ Overall I listen to the Gorillaz more often, but lots of good stuff can be found in both old and new HBMS.
I love Zepplin, but I just can't listen to them without thinking about highschool, so I don't usually listen to it. LOL
Congrats on the 1k chachi! Yeah, you gota love a bit of Zep.... Anyone know Daft Punk? I know they're pretty big in Europe, not too sure about state side.
It seems to work for me on XP Pro, WMP 9, the Blogger Plug-in and dct's great hack. Come on then, let's have some stick for my choice of music
Lately I just click the 'All Music' tab in the Music Library so I get the weirdest mix of stuff. That's nearly 30GB worth of music so even I don't know what's all in there. You must know the Spinners though...
Yeah Spinners are cool (I think) I'm on with the old classics at the moment, though I may embarress myself with a bit of Robbie in a bit.
