What are these traffic sites really doing?

You know those places that all promise 10,000 targeted visitors for $19.99. What exactly are they using to generate these "visitors"? I assume it's some program and not real vistors but does anyone know how they do this?

They use pop-unders, popups, expire domain, 404, manual surf, autosurf, Pay Per Click, search hits, etc, depends what company you use? You can ask them how they are bringing your traffic. Which company are you using?

I have never used one. I was thinking of trying it as a test. I was just curious if they were legit or not.

    It is untargeted crap traffic.

I recently purchased 100,000 visitors. I have yet to get one CTR with the traffic. The traffic I bought was expired domain traffic.

I have to say that this sounds typical of everyone I have ever talked to about these. From what I hear no one has gotten any results from these that made them worth the money you spend on them. Even if they are being delivered to real people, they most likely are not viewing the ads. I even tried one these at one time to see what results I would get and the traffic was not even unique. So it was not worth the money spent.
