what are the uses of filter menu in photoshop?

there are many menus in menu bar of photoshop. but i don't know more about any menu. what is the work of filter menu?

Like others have said, use the filter gallery to preview filters. They're amazing. It's not just for effects, either; I like using stylize -> diffuse -> anisotrophic to smooth out lineart.

 

I love the filters, my favorites are add noise and pixelize, and a cool web 2.0 look.look up a few tutorials, they're very much worth it!

If your question is filter, I use Smart Blur often. If the other in menu bar, I always use Level.
