What are the important things to consider while exchanging links? What are the sites one should not exchange links with? Any help will be highly appreciated!
my 2 cents : - exchange links with sites with a similar subject matter. - use the main keywords you want to rank well for in the description and use a lot of variations. - ask for a description if possible - "natural looking" links are always better. A link in an article is better than a link at the bottom of the site in the "partners" section - when writing the link exchange email express interest in their site. Say why your link would be beneficial to them - If the page where the reciprocal link will be has some pagerank say so in the email. and browse the DP forums some more ... all this has been said before
hmmm good tips... what are link farms? have read this term many times... what sites are considered as link farms?
Link farms are sites that link to anyone, they don't sort or categorise the links and all they have are links. They will be recipricol links. Directories are one way links with the occassional recip. Unless you are in these industries don't link exchange with anyone who has these links: mobile phones, scooters, meds, gambling, dating. Link Exchanges - the novice version
Link Farms or FFA (Free of All) you will place lot of links into FFA sites and every link will placed at a movement. But SE's consider it as a bad back links. Because FFA websites is not theme related, bulk links on single webpage and even many of unethical (Porn, Banned by Google etc) links have been published.
is there any tool to check if a url is banned by google? or just go to google.com and search that url is only choice?
