I wouldnt be to trusting with PS as its just another tool with less then perfect
calculations but for fun only similur to the PR prediction tool but a little better.

Also this round google did a major depreciation of the web and most sites were
reduced by 1 PR level on the average and they may not have recalibrated thier tool so...

    thx

I 100% agree with you, at first its not even a serious tool, it gives out 3 different results on 3 different refreshes, secondly the 10 factors that they have put forward are not the only ones that can be able to judge a Page's Stregth (e.g in my opinion they missed out the traffic) and at last every new directory with a few backlinks manages to get a PS 2.5 or higher within 2 weeks time.... It would be a much better tool if it was updated like PR quarterly a year and could give out accurate results!

Can anyone tell me why seo moz is now asking for premium membership in order to refresh your page strength? Last week they changed it to you needing only free membership, now they want you to pay for it.

Moreover, when I did sign for the free membership the damn refresh button did'nt do anything, so what makes them think that I want to pay to see these results? If the tool is not working right then they should take it down. It has been saying that I have only 27,000 links pointing at index-it for the past week now. It is a good tool, but not that good to were I am willing to pay $39 a month just to get the correct results, that is if you do in fact get the right results.

    >>>Can anyone tell me why seo moz is now asking for premium membership in order to refresh your page strength?

Personally I don't think the PS tool is worth $39 a month. I don't think the tool tells you much more than PR does and I have seen studies how the PS rating follows the TBPR rating very closely.

Personall I think the ILQ tool is more useful and that it tells you how many edu's, gov's, dmoz and dir.yahoo.com links a site have and gives you a ILQ rating.

Having said that I am a Premimum member at www.SEOMoz.org (only $199 a year). I support Rand because he is doing a good work and most of what he is doing is open source and he deserves the support of the webmasters community.

    Hello...

Im sure your aware of why... mr mutch
the cost of living raises daily so i would imagine sooner or later
free becomes to costly and a fee is needed to support the effort...

You seem to have a nice list was wondereing when you plan on adding
more PR 5- 6 sites to your paid listings ? Is thier a charge to be included in your lists?

Ps you may want to redo the PR stats as many sites lost and other gained

You may PM me for any details if you wish....

    thx

need to be fixed otherwise it would work just fine.. and the correct PS
    would therfore be displayed....
or is it a trick of the trade for more paid clients to join  ......nahhhhhh :)

    thx

Both tools are great entertaiment. As long as the results are easily maipulated they'll be nothing more (just my personal opinion).

Results every where can be maipulated including in the SERPs. The strength of the IQL tools it the ability to get a quick view of the quality of inbound links. It comes in a FireFox plugin also.

Yep i check ILQ through your firefox plugin itself, just at the bottom line.. beside the search status plugin..
I like the tool, but would like to tell that, people can easily spam in .edu blogs by comments, and can get incoming links from there.. then how can we tell that it has good .edu backlinks?
That would be the links which we achieve by spamming, although our directory is not upto that standards!

Just my 2 cents... n my thought on this!

There is no way to tell the quality of edu's that point to a persons site besides checking them by hand. we don't have this problem with DMOZ, dir.yahoo.com, or gov's but there is alot of people getting edu's by buying or doing comment spam.

The differnet between ILQ and PR is you can't see where the PR score has come from. With ILQ you can see the number of edu's, gov's, dmoz, and dir.yahoo.com. If a site has 500 edu's and no govs, no dmoz, and only 15 dir.yahoo.com then that tells you they may have a bought a dir.yahoo.com listing and some bought alot of edu's or been busy doing comment spam with out having to take a look at quality of the inbound edu's.

One of the things with PS is it take quite awhile to get the PS rating for a page and of course the position that some have held that the PS score is very close to the PR score. Not that I am saying the PR score is not useful.
