You're right I should have done a little more research. However, I would not call those mirror pages that were created by wikipedia, someone clearly took the time to create a bunch of different pages with a different page name and then posted the same links on each page. Funny thing is that wikipedia knows these are spam pages but has failed to do anything about it.

With that said, I guess you are right, if wikipedia does not want to do anything it is not your fault. So I guess you are just slipping through the cracks as they would say. To bad none of those pages passes pr, otherwise I might have to get a piece of the action somehow.

    My apologizes.

    They are just redirects "Podcast
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    (Redirected from Netcast)"

So its just one page with many redirects which again is nothing up to me as i was just as surprised as you when i saw yahoo counted 24 wikipedia links to my site.

I accept your apologies but im even more pissed at people who i tought were cool with me and they did not take time to go verify the facts you posted against me but instead they just jumped along on the accusation. (for post count i assume).

    Thanks for apologizing once more.
    -David

PS.- as far as i am concerned, links from en.wikipedia.org pass PR, it is the links from other wikipedias that have the nofollow attached to them.

well in this case i would support seiya, because other day one of my articles on acne were published and where also linked from many relevant pages.
Does that mean we spammed it :)
Anyway good luck to both of your index-it and map100 :)

Well, I'm not really sure why you say this. It's hard to believe that a domain with 10,000 .edu links to the home page has no authority on a sub-page.

In any event, I've provided both values and people can decide for themselves which one to use.

I understand what you are saying and certainly it's true that directory.domain.com probably doesn't inherit all of the page strength of domain.com.

The fact is however, empirical evidence is that subdomains seem to inherit most of the authority of the main domain. For an extensive discussion of this, see:
    http://www.threadwatch.org/node/6484

In this case, many subdomains were ranking highly for extremely competitive terms based only on a few links from the main domain.

Some salient points from this discussion:

So you are going to start charging $100 for a feature listing and $50 for a regular listing? That is a pretty bold price.

I'm sure people will buy without just 'browsing' around a little.

    What I don't understand is.

    yahoo:
    linkdomain:gii.in site:wikipedia.org

    Wikipedia external link:
    Anchor: External Hard Drive Information
    Url: http://www.gii.in/gadgets/320gb-usb-20-external-hard-drive-from-iomega/

    CopyScape: Fails

The point is people will stop at nothing to pull these little stunts. I'd of at least of expected something *original*, since you know, you are editing wikipedia.
