there is lot of different ways to build a quality backlinks as some of them have already said that have a quality content people will automatically link to it.

Plus you can also build link in following way (the below are the steps which i do for my site)

1) Bookmarking to the bookmarking site (use top 10 to 15 social bookmarking site not all as i didnt see any difference)(free)

2) Write article and submit it to the article directories (free)

3) Find out related blog and forum and participate in it.

4)Directory submission

5)join one way link networking system (paid)

6) This is important Generate RSS feed of your website and submit it to RSS directory (free)

7) If you can write press release, then submit it press release directory. (free)

8) Make video presentation (you can do powerpoint slide presentation in your video) submit it to youtube, tubemoghual etc (mostly free)

Thank you for the replies they are very helpful, has anyone got a list of Dofollow high PR blogs to comment on as the majority seem to have the nofollow tag that i seem to find.

 

Blog commenting, forum posting, and article writing are the best ones, imo.

I have trouble with blogs as they never seem to allow my comment, I dont spam and & I always post something on topic, I sometimes change my name so that the anchor text it then relevant but I do this on sites that have lots of comments already like that, when I leave a comment it appears but when I go back or refresh my browser it gone :-(

Ive been checked and im NOT banned with Akismet so does anyone have a clue

It depends on if the free directory has a good pr.

 

You want increase your site PR and alexa then u do all kind Link Building Works. Like that Directory Submission, Blog commenting, Social Bookmarking, Yahoo Ans, profile Building, Press Release and Etc..
Your Site need unique And quality content with your keywords
Ad Video submission
Do Reciprocal Link exchange
If u do all your site PR and Alexa goes up soon

 

The idea behind including backlinks as part of the page rank algorithm is that if a page is good, people will start linking to it. And the more backlinks a page has, the better. But in practice it is not exactly like this. Or at least you cannot always rely on the fact that your contents is good and people will link to you. Yes, if your content is good and relevant you can get a lot of quality backlinks, including from sites with similar topic as yours (and these are the most valuable kind of backlinks, especially if the anchor text contains your keywords) but what you get without efforts could be less than what you need to successfully promote your site. So, you less than what you need to successfully promote your site. So, you will have to resort to other ways of acquiring quality backlinks as described next.

 

The thing with quality content is a bit propaganda from gogle. Sure you will get some backlinks for that, if your content is really good.
But that are not enough. With simple spamming methods like Blog comments or forum comments, you just get much more backlinks, then by waiting, that the people recognize your quality.
