What are the steps for SEO?

Just a simple step by step:
1. Research a targeted keyword.
2. Optimize your site for those keywords
3. Make optimized articles for your site. It should be unique.
4. Make another set of unique articles containing targeted keywords.
5. Submit it to high PR sites.
6. Build primary, secondary, and tertiary linking.
7. Within 2 weeks, your site will rank well.

I think you should not read like this. I want to recommend one small book, which contain only 90 pages. SEO by Bred Collon. This is really good book and follow the steps given in this book.
