hi friends. what is the main difference between static pages and dynamic pages as far as SEO is concern.and what care should be taken when we go for seo to these pages. thanks in advance.
URL re-writing... and lot of more are there while working with dynamic site you should keep in mind about the database tables fields and controls ...naming.
Search Engines prefer static pages because it suits them and reduce overhead for their algos. But it doesn't mean that they don't crawl dynamic webpages. Though dynamic webpages are of two types 1) simple dynamic pages like webpages ending with .php or .aspx extension. 2) webpages ending with parameters like viewthread.php?t=1&hl=seo&limit=10 first type of dynamic webpages are closer to .html static webpages. but in second type of webpages parameters should be kept less 2 or 3 maximum. But at the end its your authority of domain which forces search engines to crawl more or not. Forcing factor is not whether they are static or dynamic webpages
thanks guys, main thing is that static pages are more SEO friendly than dynamic pages.but in some sited there is large amount of DB or authentication is needed at that time dynamic pages are more suitable. any one have good links through which i can read in details about static and dynamic pages SEO. thanks
The difference isnt in the dynamic and static pages.. they be both treated similarly.. the problem arises when the pages start using the session IDs .. which search engine find difficult to crawl... Take care Manish
i dont think so that both are same coz there are lots of difference in programing methods.but i dont have any depth knowledge.
I am seeing search engines showing lot of pages with long querystring in results so I dont think dynamic vs static page debate as regards to SEO is valid now. Google and other SEs are getting more and more sophisticated everyday. SO, my advice dont bother abt the type of page. Just keep querystring short if possible.
Having good keywords in your static html also helps in rankings. very unlikely that is to happen for dynamic links.
