Let's say you pay someone for Google +1's.. Is there a chance of getting banned? I didn't see anything about this in the TOS.

The whole idea of buying +1s is gaming the system which goes against Google’s quality guidelines. You can probably get away with buying +1s for a short while before Google penalizes those sites. I see a problem being lots of +1s for a short time but then the amount trailing off – so not a viable long term boost.

The whole point of +1 is to get relevant leads and not be spammy but by buying them you’re essentially getting fake endorsements from people who really aren’t interested (spamming) and getting low CTR – those people aren’t coming back long term. I could see that messing with your quality score in the long run.

But hey, if you want to try it maybe just try it with an experimental site that you won’t get too upset with if Google’s wrath comes back at you.

As far as I know, Google stated that "+1s" wouldn't influence global search results. Also, for personalized search results presented to logged in users, only "+1s" by people connected to your google account will show up and contribute to a more and more individual ranking for every user.

I heard they were eventually going to factor in +1s globally. If you have tons of users vouching for a certain site why not? It's more legit than a lot of their other ranking methods.

Some people see a new feature like this and wonder how they can game the system to their benefit.

I'd say that before implementation Google have already thought about this and are just waiting for some gullible people to buy/sell +1's so that they can test their checking systems.

I'd personally let someone else buy the +1's
