What are the restrictions when using www.blogger.com as a commercial website ?

What are the biggest disadvantages when using a blog site like blogger when I want to use it for commercial purposes ?

I have no experience designing websites and don't want to outsource it to a webdesign company.

Will I be able to put links to payment processors ?
Will I be able to optimize my site for SEO and Adwords ?
    .................. etc

    thanks.

If you follow the guideline carefully it shouldn't be any trouble. and when you create more than one blog don't make it as a link farm.

So, I can do the same things with a free blog site as with a purchased one ?

Will Google adwords accept such a site as landing page ?

What blog site do you recommend ?

Well, you are better off with your own domain + hosting. They cost few bucks per month, so no much point trying to get a free blogger.com for that kind of stuff.

I host my site on blogger. The biggest disadvantages are:

    1. You can't adjust meta tags on individual pages.
    2. Can't use sitemaps
    3. No way of knowing monthly bandwidth. In other words, no AW stats.

Other than these, I don't find any problems. Ofcourse, hosting your own site gives you more control.

Well, in that case it could be worth starting to experiment. :) It makes things much more exciting when you have registered your own domain ;)

I would definitely opt for having my own hosting and using wordpress instead of something like blogger.com It's way more professional to have your own domain name.

You can also have full control of what you are doing and also get good statistics on who is visiting your site.

Like "Game Producer" said, hosting isn't very expensive and if you are looking to make money online anyway, it's a must have in my opinion.

I think it affects Adwords quality score. I'm a newbie in that field but know having your own domain helps.

Yea it might affect your quality score a little, however the most important thing is just the content and how relevant it is to the keywords you are bidding on.
