I agree with Danstelter-UNIQUE content is king. You definitely do 'get what you pay for' with writing. This forum has become loaded to the max with people willing to "write" for mere pennies. I know that as a blog owner, I do not want ONE article or piece of content on my blog that is poorly written because it reflects greatly on the entire site.
Exactly- if you want to differentiate your content from run of the mill content, you will have to pay a little more than 5$ an article. That said, it is possible to find quality content writers for prices that won't break the bank- sometimes as little as 2-3 cents per word can give you quality content. It all depends on what you need, and what you are willing to spend to achieve it. As well, content writing depends on other factors than quality- do you need lots of articles? Do you have strict, looming deadlines? Does your writing need lots of research? All of these factors will cause the cost to fluctuate.
Pay peanuts, get monkeys. Rates for copywriting go from pence per word to hundreds of pounds a day, with a minimum of one day per task. Quality of copywriting goes from hurried, rambling text to copy that persuades, inspires and motivates your customers. Tailoredfreelancing is spot on when he/she says that anything below the $40-$50 mark would probably not be great.
Ah, no that was danstelter that said that 40-50$ was the lower limit to getting great content- I agreed, however I also pointed out that if you do find someone who is willing to write for less at a quality that is to your satisfaction, you need to keep hold of them! Definitely give them lots of work, and even a small raise every once in a while to keep your competition from snatching them up. But yes, for sales copy especially, you will be paying a premium, as this is the writing that makes your business sales. For other copywriting, such as articles and SEO content, you can often get away with paying a little less. Universities are full of writing students with spare time
I am just getting into freelance writing, so I don't charge a high price. Once I obtain more experience and put together a portfolio I plan to raise my prices because I have quality work.
pay me 2$ for 350 words article Im not as guru in article writing but i started last sept. 11, 2011 till now but i can give good articles with copscape pass I have premium account
Determining freelance copywriter rates can be a daunting task. How do you put a reasonable price on your capabilities? The rate is not written in stone, but rather fluctuates greatly between writers, companies, and individuals. One writer might charge $300 for a project, while another might charge $1,000. There might even be someone else who would offer a low bid to do the same project for $50
Copywriting ISN'T content(articles/blog posts). Anyway, copywriting cannot be measured. It depends on a contract by contract basis. Each project varies in scale. Just a thought. Ben Palmer-Wilson Freelance Copywriter
Copywriting isn't content? If you're writing copy for a minisite to sell a product or service, why wouldn't it be. Call it what you will, but I think anyone reading my post understood what I meant. Petty argument, but...
Buddy, I don't know what the heck you're on about. I only found your one sentence reply above me, which relates in NO way to mine. And you insult me with your insinuations. Any chump can jump on the internet and write articles for people. Heck, it's how I started out myself. Articles and blog posts are there to inform, and are a WORLD away from copywriting. To even suggest that the two are alike shows your severe lack of understanding for the difference and the field of copywriting. Ben.
Okay, DUDE, so he peed in your Cheerios? I mean, it's not even that serious. You responded to what I wrote and I defended it, and here you are all emotional, talking about someone INSULTED you. Man, please get over yourself... And yes, I agree, anybody can get on the internet and write articles for people, but what's your point? We'll let you win this time so other people can focus on what matters most in this thread, how about that? = )
Elluminati, I honestly don't know what you're on about. 1.) Whose 'he'? 2.) What's not serious? You've confused the heck out of me 3.) I didn't respond to you. In fact, I was just replying to the thread in general, so...? 4.) All emotional? Hah. All I was saying that if you truly understood what copywriting is, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Maybe you caught the wrong end of the stick, I dunno. But I wasn't responding at all to you, just contributing my own thing. My apologies if you thought this was somehow an attack on you - it wasn't. I'm a freelance copywriter, and it does get my back up to hear people assume that article writers are the same as copywriters. We're a different breed. We can write incredibly well, for a start, and we take our work very seriously. But whatever man, I didn't come on here to fight. So let's let it go.
Well, panda is proving beneficial for the content writer. It has increased their payout as well as their vacancies.
Since Google made all those adjustments,Panda has improved from what it was. It has knocked the stuffing out of the other sites that provide the same service.
